On May 12, 2010 the Angelina YachtCharter Sailing Team won first place in the 11th Sibenik Cruiser Regatta. The Sibenik Cruiser Regatta was the final phase of a larger contest, consisting of sail boats in Croatia , and only the eight best sailing teams participated. The Angelina Yacht Charter Sailing Team was victorious in this race, which was held in the waters of the Dalmatian city Sibenik, in front of its picturesque old town fort.
The newest addition to the Angelina YachtCharter Sailing Team 's fleet, the Dufour 44 Yeti (one of the finest sail boats in Croatia ), captained by owner Robert Jakovcev, was lagging behind just a bit. Inclusion for the final race is decided one day prior, and this regatta featured a crew of thirty-six divided into seven groups.
Though there was a strong bora, the teams were able to do both races as planned. Prior regattas have seen calm seas for the last several years, so this race is somewhat losing its identity by absolute calm sea that ruled several years in a row..
An Angelina Yacht Charter spokesperson states:
"We've had a busy December start. Fleet racing Admiralship X-Cite with helmsman Luka Sangulin and a well tuned crew won the Sibenik Cruiser Regatta ".
In other sailing regatta news, a new software solution, Flash Back sail boat software, has been developed this past summer. This software, created for regattas, creates ten new modules for ship installation.
This gives a total of twenty available modules which can be used simultaneously to cover the race field. Because of this new software, the Sibenik Regatta will again be available for online analysis. All team-leading cruisers have been equipped with this new software, allowing post-regatta tactical analysis. Though footage of the Sibenik Regatta will not be available online, those interested can study the tactical maneuvers of the participants in the Racing National Championship by ORC International, as well as any of the many other races that have been processed by this analytical system.
A second race, the St. Nicholas Regatta, was organized by the yacht club Biograd and scheduled to be held on June 12, 2010. The St. Nicholas Regatta was to include fifteen crews, including the Angelina Yacht Charter. Unfortunately, wind speed was as high as thirty-five knots, and the regatta was cancelled. This did not prevent the crews from participating in the traditional boat's blessing and banquet.
