Glassing Present Their "Yacht Store" at Mido

On the occasion of Mido 2015, in Milan from 28th February through 2nd March, Glassing present their new retail experience, the Glassing Yacht Store.

Glassing have recently signed an agreement with Giorgi Marine, a shipyard that has been building sports boats and yachts for almost 60 years, and a symbol of quality and luxury, made entirely in Italy. Together, they have conceived and created the third Glassing flagship store (after Portofino and Milan): a yacht of Giorgi's fleet completely customized and designed to be a real floating shop, the first optical boat shop in the world.

The interior and graphic design of the yacht are a perfect reflection of Glassing style: a mix of luxury, fashion, research and "madness".

This collaboration with Giorgi is strengthened with the A.D.F. Antoine De Francois Collection, four-handed designed with Giorgi's patron, who suggested the technical guidelines to follow for the creation of glasses cut-out for his ship owners. Glassing then converted these guidelines into a fashionable, yet functional product.

It is the first time a yacht has entered a trade show to be used as a stand and through this initiative the brand, groundbreaking as ever, is a candidate to win the award for best optical store in the world, announced by Mido.

After being revealed to industry insiders at Mido, Glassing Yacht Store will officially open to the public this summer, reaching the harbors of the most exclusive holiday destinations of the Mediterranean sea and giving customers the opportunity to buy the newest sunglasses and optical collections, even while barefoot and dressed only in a swimsuit.


Glassing were born in 2010 from an idea of Alessandro Forte and Stefano Ottone, two young Italian entrepreneurs, that once back in Italy decided to start together a new adventure. 

The brand is focused on research of innovative materials, often combined in unusual ways, believes in young designers and their courage, and takes advantage of Italian expertise in handmade manufacture. 

The brand is currently distributed in more than 1300 selected optical stores in the world and in luxury fashion boutiques such as Excelsior and LaRinascente in Milano, Galeries LaFayette in Beijing, Twist in Hong Kong, Harrods in London, and Mr M in Beirut. 

Glassing have two flagship stores in Italy: one in Milan and another one in Portofino.
